In a recent survey, over 75 pc of students are impacted due to the lockdown as they found it hard to study online, over 80 pc students said they need hand-holding to shift from offline to online and over 25 pc said they need proper training to pursue education online. 

ekatra is a tool for educators and organizations to deliver learning at scale, combining the power of Text (SMS & Whatsapp), Audio & Video communication. Our learning platform helps such organizations focused on career readiness for underserved learners to teach them important job and life skills. 

The hackathon will enable you to build solutions to extend the open source project's capabilities and solve for global education crisis.

WHAT WILL YOU BUILD? 

Select a problem statement from the list. Your task is to build solutions to a real-world problem that ekatra solves, using GPT-3, participants get $18 worth credits for building solutions!

You will find all the problem statements expected to be solved by participants in the Hackatra GitHub Repo.

WHAT TO SUBMIT

  • Demo videoYour video should be under 3 minutes, include a demo of how your solution works, and highlight your novel idea.
  • Code. Provide a URL and access to your GitHub code repository. Your repository should include all your relevant project code and a README with getting started instructions that allow others to test your project. Provide access by making your code public or sharing access with VrukshEco GitHub account. The code needs to be Open Sourced under appropriate license. 
  • Write-Up. Provide a written defense of your project, explaining its strength in each of the four judging criteria (see Judging and Criteria in the Rules). Provide supporting facts and statistics as appropriate. The response for each criterion may be up to 250 words. The four criteria are:
    • Impactfulness - for solving a real-world problem
    • Innovativeness - for use of GPT-3
    • Ambitiousness - for the scale and complexity of solution
    • Applicability - for adoption in the real world

The winner gets a INR 20,000 (~USD 260) cash prize, upon successful implementation of the solution with the ekatra project.

The team gets an internship / consulting role with the organization with a potential to convert to a full time position.

2nd Prize

The winner gets a INR 10,000 (~USD 130) cash prize, upon successful implementation of the solution with the ekatra project.

3rd Prize

The winner gets a INR 5,000 (~USD 65) cash prize, upon successful implementation of the solution with the ekatra project.
